A real nightmare

A real nightmare - Natividad Meyers

I had a terrible nightmare last night. It woke me up towards 4 A.M. I was covered in sweat and shivering when I woke up. I dreamt that my boyfriend and I had been bitten by rattlesnakes and he almost died because of the bite. Instinctively I checked my body to see if it was real or not. It did not matter that I was on a different continent and rattlesnakes were not living in this colder climate. The scary thought of seeing a snake again was embedded in my mind.

Being still not fully awake, I looked at my boyfriend, who was sleeping peacefully on his side of the bed. For a few seconds, the fear of losing him surged up and the recent memory of him being bitten was replayed.

Within seconds I lifted the sheet and checked his left leg in order to see if he had been bitten or not. In my dream his leg had become swollen and there was some blood on it. I was relieved to see that everything was only a bad dream. I laid down in bed trying to calm down and go back to sleep but I couldn’t.

After half an hour of trying to fall asleep again, I gave up. I left the bed and went to the kitchen. I thought that a camomile tea would help me sleep. While the water in the kettle was boiling, I checked my emails on my phone. I saw that there was a message from my sister. She had got a Groupon deal at a spa and she was inviting me to get get a Hyaluronic acid Injection Rosemere

I would have loved to go get pampered with her on Saturday, but I had to be somewhere else. My partner and I had already made plans for the weekend. We were supposed to go Ottawa and meet one of our old friends, who was visiting Canada for a short period of time. Otherwise, I would have not mind at all spending half of day with my little sis.

To be honest, I also wished to go to Ottawa because I wanted to see the tulips’ festival. I have never seen it with my own eyes. Miles and miles of tulips! All the photos I saw online looked marvellous. I imagined that in real life it must be a delightful experience. I look forward to going there.
